Keerthi Kumar, the founder and director of FFVA, has a successful career in film and television. At FFVA, he teaches all the aspects of Filmmaking.
He has done his M.Sc.Visual Communication, from Loyola College, Chennai. He was teaching TV Broadcast in Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media, Bangalore.
He has successful career in direction and editing, in film production houses, ad film companies and television channels. He has worked for production and post production of a documentary film project “Political history of TamilNadu” under Central Institute of Indian languages, Mysore.
Apart from direction, he also has a professional experience in cinematography, and was into production work of many TV shows and documentary films.
He was the production head for the 2D animation series for Moser Baer India. Pvt.Ltd.
Currently, having a production house in Bangalore, he is involved into production and post production of various television commercials, corporate films, documentary film, and movie trailers. etc.
VK Murthy, an ace Indian Cinematographer, is the recipient of 2008 Dada Saheb Phalke Award, IIFA Lifetime Achievement award along with various other accolades in his five-decade long career in film industry. Well known as Guru Dutt’s favorite cinematographer, he was the first Indian Cinematographer to use Cinemascope film in India. For all of Guru Dutt’s movies such as Kaagaz ke phool,Pyaasa, Saahab, biwi aur gulam, VK Murthy was his only cinematographer throughout. He also introduced various new lighting techniques, especially for that black and white era, which though is still being followed in industry.
VK Murthy is associated with FFVA as visiting faculty, and also has enlightened students with his experience and intense discussions on cinematography and lighting techniques.
Santosh Boopalan, an Assistant Cinematographer in Tamil Film Industry , is a visiting faculty in FFVA. After a short stint with gaffering in Mumbai, he has been associated with many big banner ads such as Ponds. He has also assisted various ace cinematographers in film industry. He has good experience in documentaries as well after making few on his own such as Nadagam. Thoroughly skilled with all latest technology, he gives insight to FFV students about techniques and changing updated trends in Cinematography.
Santosh has expertise in 16mm - ARRI 416, SR2 & 35mm – ARRI 435, III, IIC, along with other high end digital cameras such as RED ONE, ARRI ALEXA, CANON 5D, 7D, PANASONIC VARICAM, SONY EX1, PANASONIC HVX 202.

GM Shirahatti (Professor) is amongst very few, who have carved their own niche and are well known in media industry all over. At FFVA, he teaches video and audio production.
Having an experience of over 40 years in All India Radio and Doordarshan, he has an expertise in producing both audio and video programs. He has worked in AIR stations across the country and has also served as Doordarshan Director, Bangalore.
He is also the recipient of several awards such as state award for a radio play and various international awards as well. He received “Commonwealth Broadcasters Award” and also “Association award” for innovative management of commercial broadcast, along with several others.
He has also written and produced various stage plays for both radio and television.

With over twelve years of experience in the electronic media, Prof.Surekha Deepak has worked with both television and films. As a guest faculty, she teaches script writing at FFVA.
She was part of the planning and setting up of the various regional language satellite channels launched by Eenadu Television. She has worked with one of the largest film houses in the country, Ramoji Film City in various roles
Surekha has been involved with the planning and execution of two Hollywood films. She was the special effects coordinator for the Kamal Hassan film Hey Ram, which won the National Award for Computer Graphics in 2000. She has also scripted and directed many documentary films and has been associated with various NGOs.

Prof.Sumesh.K.V teaches television production at FFVA. He has done his M.Sc.Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai.
He has worked as a production executive in television channels. He has successfully handled Live News bulletins, Anchor Auditions, Anchor Training, Anchor Co ordination, Graphic Co-ordination. He has worked as an investigative journalist for a television reality show called “Kutram”.
He also directed the music album named “Devathey”. He was the promo director for “Department of Foreign Languages”, Loyola College, Chennai.
Currently he is working in the quality control department for a Hollywood post production facility.
K S Venkateswarlu
Currently being associated with Suvarna 24X7, KS Venkateswarlu has a long successful journey in broadcast services. With a thorough experience in setting and maintaining satellite earth stations for telecom department, he has worked in various capabilities in broadcasting in southern regions of India. He was also selected to Indian Broadcasting Engineering Services through UPSC.
After taking VRS from government service, he joined Jupiter Capital for setting up two radio stations. Subsequently, he worked on setting up Suvarna and Suvarna news channels in Bangalore and Sitara channel in Hyderabad.

Prof.Sam Emmanuel, has been one of Bangalore’s most reliable sound engineers for over 20 years. He has worked with many international studios, and has even set up several studios in and around Karnataka.
He has also been the Media coordinator with Kirloskar Multimedia, apart from having worked with FEBA (Far East Broadcasting) and Media Centre, a media communications centre. Sam has been one of the few selected for an intensive 6 month workshop conducted in Canada.

Aditi KK is the assistant professor at FFVA. She teaches writing for mass media and film criticism. She also assists students to get placements in TV Channels and media houses.
Aditi has been a successful journalist with the Times Group, Bangalore. Some of her expertise includes Cyber crime, forensic science, commodities & business amongst various other beats.
Apart from working in research team for Centre of Media Studies (CMR), New Delhi, she has also been associated with the News Service Department (NSD) in All India Radio. She has worked in The Statesman Newspaper as well.
Being an independent documentary film maker, she has made several documentary films on issues like Babri Masjid and untouchability.

Dr P Chandra Sekharan A well-known name who helped in solving the mystery of Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, he is specialized in forensics and has served in many high positions in forensic departments in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Jodhpur. With more than 50 years of teaching experience in forensic science, environmental toxicology and law, he has been an avid researcher in many such fields for over 50 years.
He has authored a book “The first Human Bomb”, which gives a detailed story of Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
Amongst many awards and accolades, few of them include Padma Bhushan in year 2000 for distinguished service of a higher order, fellowship of the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute which is considered as the highest honor and status, the ACFEI can bestow upon a member.
KN Jagadesh Kumar After a brief stint with real estate, K N Jagadesh Kumar finally went on to be social Activist and RTI activist.
In 2003 he started a private local news bulletin named “YUVA” that had information about various scandals, issues pertaining to the local bodies, land grabbing mafia, Water mafia, illicit liquor scandals etc. This was a true eye opener for the people. These malpractices happening in the society were exposed to the people and in most of the cases, immediate actions were taken by the authorities to put these practices to an end.
Since 2005, he is addicted to RTI, using it as a tool to retrieve information from various departments like BBMP, CMC, BDA, BESCOM, Police departments, BWSSB etc. All this was done in order to sanitize the departments and bring in more accountability in the respective departments.
Thejesh is a perfect example of how blogging can be used as a best source of mass communication. He has been blogging since 2003 on various subjects like technology, travel and in general his life. Some of his personal projects have been profiled by publications like Times of India, Bangalore Mirror, Sky News etc. In 2008, Nokia invited him to represent India in Open Lab Conference.
He started his career as a developer in 2003 at Infosys. After working for seven years, he is on a sabbatical to explore much more. During his sabbatical he is helping NGOs Janaagraha and UbuntuAtWork in technology and online community building. He loves open source and lamp technologies.
Just like many others, I too joined FFVA to learn editing course and turn it into a profession. But after joining, I was overwhelmed by the attention faculty gives and the way they take interest to place students into media...
